Majorelle Garden & Yves Saint Laurent Museum
Modern & Fashionable Marrakech
For a complete change of scenery, discover the modern, arty and fashionable side of Marrakech when visiting one of the French ‘Guéliz’ district most beautiful areas, with the iconic Majorelle Garden, the Musée Pierre Bergé des Arts Berbères and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.
The Majorelle Garden was created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle in 1922 where he painted the garden walls, fountains, features and villa in a very intense shade of blue, for which he trademarked the name “Majorelle Blue”. Yves Saint Laurent bought the garden in 1980 and extensively renovated it before opening it to the public.
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent is devoted to the creations and philosophy of the style genius. It was in Marrakech that he sketched some of his finest designs and hosted some of his wildest parties. The Museum houses thousands of his articles of clothing, designs and video clips as well as temporary exhibitions.
